Lilac City Homeschool Band

Did you know that Spokane has a homeschool band? Come September, we will be restarting. We now have 7 levels of playing. The core levels will develop musicality, technique, and group playing. We offer classes at beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels. Then there are 4 other classes that are offered in addition: Jazz, Honors Ensemble, That Saxophone Thing, and Trumpet Corps. We meet Thursday afternoons. For more information, please contact Janeen Graham at (509)462-2948 or lilachomeschoolband@gmail.com . You can also visit us on the web at www.lilaccityband.com or on Facebook.

Lilac City Homeschool Strings

We are looking forward to another great year!  Here are the important pieces of information you need: We are meeting at the same location:Immanuel Baptist Church, 5109 N Adams Street, Spokane. We will be having 2 classes: a beginning strings class taught by the awesome Mrs. Jody Sears and an intermediate/concert class taught by the equally awesome Mr. Adams. Beginning class meets from 2:00 - 2:50 on Thursday afternoons.  Intermediate/concert class meets from 3:00 - 4:30 on Thursdays. Cost remains the same: $25 per month for the first child in a family; maximum of $50 per family per month tuition.  A one-time performance fee of $55 per family is due at the beginning of the year.  Scholarships are available. We plan to have two concerts in the year, one in December and one in May.  Also, the concert class will play a combined concert with the Lilac City Homeschool Band at a date to be announced. Please pre-register (a fancy way of saying, “Let us know you’re coming”), by sending back an email with your child’s name, age, instrument, and expected level for this year. If you don’t pre-register, come anyway. First day of class - Thursday, September 6 - will be mostly a parent meeting/orientation for the beginners, and will be an introductory class for the intermediate/concert group.  Both groups should bring instruments.  We have some instruments to be loaned out!  Pass the word that we have violas, cellos, and basses that need to be played.  Contact us if you’re interested. Looking forward to seeing everybody!   Jen Adams, for Jim and Jody too!   509-990-7771
